Accessibility statement for uptakeAI
1. What this covers
This statement applies to the uptakeAI website. It is written to the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.
uptakeAI is a private company and is not covered by the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018. We publish this because a website some people cannot use is not finished. We would rather name where we fall short than leave you to find it.
2. How accessible this site is
We believe this site meets WCAG 2.2 AA.
3. What we have done
- Colour contrast. Every text and background pairing in the site palette is tested against the AA thresholds by an automated check that runs before anything is published. Body text sits at 8.6:1 and headings at 17.2:1 against white, well above the 4.5:1 requirement.
- Colour is never the only signal. Where our diagnostic charts use colour to distinguish one measure from another, every measure is also named in text.
- Images. Every image on the site carries an alt attribute. Images that are decorative are marked as such so screen readers skip them rather than reading a filename aloud.
- Landmarks and skip links. Every page opens with a "Skip to content" link that appears when you tab to it, and the page content sits in a main landmark, so you can jump past the navigation instead of moving through it on every page.
- Heading order. Every page has one first-level heading and no page skips a level, so the headings can be used to move around the page.
- Keyboard. Focus styling is defined and is never suppressed, so you can see where you are when navigating by keyboard.
- Motion. The site uses small animations. If your device is set to reduce motion, they are turned off.
- Forms. Every question in our online diagnostic is programmatically associated with its input, so screen readers announce the question with the field rather than reading an unlabelled control.
- Language. Every page declares British English, and the site is written in plain language rather than jargon.
4. Telling us about a problem
If you find something on this site you cannot use, or you need information in a different format, please tell us. We will acknowledge you and tell you what we intend to do and when. If you are not satisfied with our response, say so and it will be looked at again by someone else.
5. Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 2 September 2026. It was last reviewed on 2 September 2026.
The site was assessed by internal review: an automated colour contrast check across the full palette, and a page by page inspection of images, headings, form labelling, landmarks, focus handling and motion preferences across all pages.
This is a self-assessment. It has not been prepared or verified by a third party.
